If you have not yet selected a therapist, we will match you with someone who we believe to be the best fit based on availability and specialization.
Your therapist will reach out to set up a free 15-minute telephone consultation to determine if it feels like a mutual fit.
If you and your therapist decide to move forward, you will schedule an initial session. This is a time to review your goals, get acquainted with your therapist, and further assess the fit. Once the assessment is completed, you will start on your treatment path.
Payment is expected at the time of service. The Connection Institute accepts credit cards and HSA payments. Special circumstances may allow for cash or check payment. We do not participate with insurance panels — clients can submit their own claims toward their out-of-network benefits. We do provide monthly auto-generated superbills for this purpose. Additionally, the Connection Institute has expertly supervised interns who provide sessions at a low cost and several clinicians allow for income-based sliding scale session fees.
Before your session, your Connection Institute therapist will discuss how to complete the intake paperwork. Intake paperwork is sent through our client portal system and needs to be completed no less than 24 hours before the initial session.
The Connection Institute requires that you give notice to your therapist at least 24 – 48 hours prior to your appointment if you wish to cancel. You will be charged the full session fee for notice given less than 24 hours before the appointment start time. Be sure to check with your therapist to confirm the specific cancellation policy.
